Diesel Emissions Reduction Act
Phil Rossie, program director of the North Carolina Clean Diesel Campaign has informed Dr. Patrie that the, "Diesel Emissions Reduction Act" ,DERA), as part of the Jobs Bill before Congress could provide over a billion dollars for retrofitting diesel trucks and buses with antipollution Changes.
It is calculated that this would reduce particle, CO2 and N02 emissions by more than 85% and provide jobs for 50,000 workers (www.cleanaircarolina.org). To help insure passage of this act, call Senator Kay Hagen's office at 704-334-2448, ask for Carrie Cook and tell her that you suport funding of the DERA program as part of the Jobs Bill.
