Ira Helfand Video: The medical, environmental and humanitarian consequences of nuclear war

Ira Helfand, M.D. Co-President, International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW) Dr. Helfand delivered a presentation “Confronting Nuclear Weapons in the 21st Century” on Monday, December 3rd, 2012 at The Social Hall of The Asheville Jewish Community Center. The event was sponsored by The Western North Carolina Chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility. Subsequently, Dr Helfand has produced a video which makes a clarion call for each of us to actively support the abolition of nuclear weapons. It is downloaded from YouTube and follows:

 



Dr.Helfand is co-Founder and Past President of Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR), IPPNW’s US affiliate. He has published studies on the medical consequences of nuclear war in the New England Journal of Medicine and the British Medical Journal.
